Not quite what you were expecting, right? Women of Faith, a small faith sharing group is currently reading this book. The pages are filled with humor and gripping stories about women who are saints, some saints in the making and still others who ought to be saints. The common denominator is the amazing way they rose out of the ordinary circumstances to commit acts of audacity: bold, daring, plucky, fearless acts.
Maria invites us to really learn about who some of these women are and why she calls them “badass saints”. She hopes that we can find inspiration in their stories and imitate them as to grow in their virtues. This is a book that is not afraid to talk about the beautiful mess, where faith meets real life, where saints and mortals coexist, one cheering the other one on to glory.
the author is a “badass” who inspires us toward sainthood. She believes this can be us, too if we want. The pursuit of sainthood despite all obstacles. This results in bringing out the “badass”fearless trust that hones a saint.
Women of Faith challenges you to be a beacon of hope to those around you. Are you ready to be that beacon, that badass saint in the making?
Let us know if you would like to join us in reading the book. We meet on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at St. Joe’s at one o’clock in the west sacristy. For more information call 585-533-9386.
